Taking a company off the target list
The target list has two sources: rows you added by hand or by CSV, and rows a bound CRM list puts on it. Remove from targets removes only the rows you put there. A company that is on the list only because a bound CRM list carries it cannot be removed from Clustr. The next nightly pull would write the row back, so the removal would not last the night. You have two real options, and Clustr says so rather than pretending: change the list in your CRM, or exclude the company, which hides it everywhere without removing a row the sync owns. When a company has both kinds of row, yours is removed and Clustr says the CRM list still puts it on the target list. Excluded companies no longer appear on the target list either. They stay on it, they are just not shown, in the same way they are not shown anywhere else.The lists stack
Nothing stops a company being a target and a client at once. If you mark a target account as a client, it stays a target: its grade still counts the target list, and it still appears under the Targets filter. Take it off the target list too if that is what you meant. Excluding is the one that wins over the others. It is applied as a filter on every read, so an excluded company is hidden whether or not it is a target and whether or not it is a client.Excluding is reversible, and safe against a CRM sync
Excluding a company does not take it off your target list. That is deliberate. If your target list is bound to a CRM list, the next sync writes the company back as a target. Because excluding leaves the target row alone and hides the company instead, the sync and your exclusion can both be true: the row comes back, and the company still does not appear. Nothing is deleted while a company is excluded. Remove the exclusion and everything it was hidden from comes back on the next read. The exclusion list holds at most 500 companies per workspace.What a company is matched on
Each list matches on different keys, which is why a company can be on one and not another.- Targets match on the company name and its LinkedIn company page.
- Clients match on the LinkedIn company page, by numeric id or slug. A company with no LinkedIn page cannot go on this list.
- Exclusions match on any of four keys: the Clustr company id, the LinkedIn numeric id, the LinkedIn slug, or the website domain. Give as many as you know. The exclusion is checked before a company record exists, which is how it stops the enrichment rather than only hiding its result.
